Sister taxon: Ictinogomphus hassleri
Type specimen: PE 2000/5006-LS, a hindwing. Its type locality is Enspel, which is in a MP 28 crater lake shale/tuff in the Enspel Formation of Germany.
Ecology: fast-moving volant carnivore-insectivore
Distribution: found only at Enspel
