Type specimen: LACM/CIT 2852, a partial skeleton (Skeleton including fragment of left and most of right premaxilla, both maxillae, right jugal, right quadratojugal, partial right quadrate, right postorbital, ). Its type locality is Panoche-Tumey Hills (CIT Loc. 357), which is in a Maastrichtian offshore shale in the Moreno Formation of California.
