Sister taxa: Boreadorthis crassa, Boreadorthis recula, Boreadorthis sadewitzensis, Boreadorthis sadewitziensis

Type specimen: Sheehan 1987 pl. 1 f. 15-16, a valve (internal mould of dorsal valve). Its type locality is 74B20, which is in a Rawtheyan deep-water shale in the Fosses Formation of Belgium.
