Sister taxa: Plagioctenodon dawsonae, Plagioctenodon dormaalensis, Plagioctenodon goliath, Plagioctenodon krausae, Plagioctenodon rosei, Plagioctenodon savagei

Type specimen: UM 71650, a mandible (left dentary with P2- M3). Its type locality is SC-117, which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in the Fort Union Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (1: Wyoming collection)

• Clarkforkian of United States (3: Wyoming)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
