Belongs to Pomatotrema according to E. O. Ulrich and G. A. Cooper 1938
Sister taxa: Pomatotrema fecunda, Pomatotrema inconspicuum, Pomatotrema oklahomense, Pomatotrema orbicularis
Type specimen: USNM 91710a, a valve (Ventral valve). Its type locality is about 4 miles east of Hennepin, which is in a Cassinian carbonate limestone in the West Spring Creek Formation of Oklahoma.
Ecology: stationary epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at about 4 miles east of Hennepin
