Belongs to Cyphoproetus according to Y. Howells 1982
Sister taxa: Cyphoproetus bellus, Cyphoproetus comitilus, Cyphoproetus depressa, Cyphoproetus facetus, Cyphoproetus semidepressus, Cyphoproetus svartoensis
Type specimen: GSE 5775, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Lauchlan Burn, which is in an Aeronian marine sandstone/siltstone in the Wood Burn Grits Formation of the United Kingdom.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
Distribution: found only at Lauchlan Burn
