Belongs to Japonoscutellum according to T. Kobayashi and T. Hamada 1985
Sister taxa: Japonoscutellum japonicum, Japonoscutellum tunidum
Type specimen: KGS 3624, a pygidium. Its type locality is new trilobite collection, Gomi Quarry, which is in a Ludlow reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks/shale in the Fukata Formation of Japan.
Ecology: nektobenthic carnivore
Distribution: found only at new trilobite collection, Gomi Quarry
