Type specimen: AMNH 35502 (lectotype), a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Division B Beds, below the lower "Ophileta beds", Section northeast of Shoreham, which is in a Stairsian carbonate limestone/dolomite in the Fort Ann Formation of Vermont.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder

• Ordovician of Canada (6: Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador collections), United States (1: Vermont)
