Type specimens:

  • Echmatemys naomi: AMNH 5975 (holotype), a partial shell (partial carapace). Its type locality is Little Dry Creek, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
  • Echmatemys obscura: CM 3253, a shell. Its type locality is South of Kennedy's Hole, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah.

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (4: Utah, Wyoming collections)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
