Type specimen: UCMP 15561, a shell. Its type locality is UCMP 1817, Urruttia Canyon-Salt Creek, which is in a Ypresian marine shale in the Lodo Formation of California.

Ecology: facultatively mobile shallow infaunal deposit feeder

Distribution: found only at UCMP 1817, Urruttia Canyon-Salt Creek
