Type specimen: USNM 402876, a partial skeleton (associated complete humerus and two tarsometatarsi). Its type locality is Te Rua Rere Cave, Tava'enga District, Mangaia, which is in a Holocene cave horizon in Cook Islands.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Quaternary of Cook Islands (8 collections)

Total: 8 collections each including a single occurrence
