Type specimen: SMNS 56618, a partial skeleton (partial articulated skeleton). Its type locality is Nothosaurus jagisteus-type locality, which is in a Ladinian marine horizon in the Meissner Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Nothosaurus jagisteus-type locality
