Type specimen: CEGH-UNC 25771, a valve (dorsal valve internal mold). Its type locality is Cerro La Chilca Section Palaeoglossa–Chilcorthis Association, which is in a Darriwilian deep-water shale/marl in the Los Azules Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Cerro La Chilca Section Palaeoglossa–Chilcorthis Association
