Sister taxa: Dinopolus atrox, Jonkeria haughtoni, Jonkeria ingens, Jonkeria parva, Jonkeria rossouwi, Jonkeria truculenta, Jonkeria vanderbyli, Dinophoneus ingens
Type specimen: Its type locality is Klein Koedoeskop, Beaufort West, which is in a Capitanian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa
