Sister taxa: Epikellnerites angustecarinatus, Epikellnerites bagolinensis, Epikellnerites spinatus, Epikellnerites tamasi, Epikellnerites vaszolyensis
Type specimen: HNHM PAL 2017.20.1, a shell. Its type locality is Mencshely I, bed 9, which is in an Illyrian marine claystone in the Vászoly Formation of Hungary.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
