Sister taxa: Pleuronectites balatonicus, Pleuronectites difformis, Pleuronectites hirabarensis, Pleuronectites laevigatus, Pleuronectites meeki
Type specimen: Its type locality is Bed SC20, South Canyon, New Pass Range, which is in a Longobardian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Augusta Formation of Nevada
Ecology: facultatively mobile low-level epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Bed SC20, South Canyon, New Pass Range
