Type specimen: CAS 441, a partial skeleton (anterior skeleton). Its type locality is Hachiman, Iki Island, which is in a Miocene lacustrine diatomite in the Chojabaru Formation of Japan.

Ecology: nektonic omnivore

Distribution: found only at Hachiman, Iki Island
