Sister taxon: Coreoperca chosun
Type specimen: KMNH VP 100,261, a skeleton. Its type locality is Hachiman, Iki Island, which is in a Miocene lacustrine diatomite in the Chojabaru Formation of Japan.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Hachiman, Iki Island
