Sister taxon: Cyprinodon primulus
Type specimen: CIT 10245. Its type locality is Chloride Cliffs, southeast, which is in a Priabonian marine horizon in the Titus Canyon Formation of California.
Ecology: nektonic omnivore
Distribution: found only at Chloride Cliffs, southeast
