Sister taxa: Epipeltephilus caraguensis, Epipeltephilus recurvus

Type specimen: MLP 92-XI-19-7, an osteoderm (three fixed osteoderms of the dorsal shield (Figure). Its type locality is Arroyo Chasicó, which is in a Chasicoan floodplain sandstone in the Arroyo Chasicó Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution:

• Miocene of Argentina (2 collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
