Sister taxon: Eoastrion bifurcatum

Type specimen: Harvard Univ. 58277, K-4-Z. Its type locality is 1.2 km northwest of Kakabeka Falls, which is in an Orosirian basinal (siliceous) chert in the Gunflint Chert Formation of Canada.

• Statherian of Australia (1 collection)

• Orosirian of Canada (4: Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, Quebec), Gabon (1)

Total: 6 collections each including a single occurrence
