Sister taxon: Eoastrion simplex
Type specimen: Harvard Univ. 58278, Slide K-4-Z. Its type locality is 1.2 km northwest of Kakabeka Falls, which is in an Orosirian basinal (siliceous) chert in the Gunflint Chert Formation of Canada.
Distribution:
• Statherian of Australia (1 collection)
• Orosirian of Canada (2: Ontario)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
