Sister taxa: Pteroscyllium lamranii, Pteroscyllium nolfi, Pteroscyllium ornatum, Pteroscyllium signeuxi, Pteroscyllium speetonensis

Type specimen: BMNH P.66395, a tooth. Its type locality is Winterbourne, lower horizon, which is in a Santonian carbonate chalk in the Newhaven Chalk Formation of the United Kingdom.
