Belongs to Metacryphaeus according to M. G. P. Carvalho et al. 1997
Sister taxa: Metacryphaeus (Metacryphaeus), Metacryphaeus meloi, Metacryphaeus tuberculatus
Type specimen: DNPM N.6133-I, a cephalon/head. Its type locality is 11 km south of Pimenteiras, which is in an Eifelian marine sandstone/siltstone in the Pimenteira Formation of Brazil.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: found only at 11 km south of Pimenteiras
