Type specimen: LACM 122444, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skull with associ- ated mandible and postcranial elements, including atlas, thoracic and caudal vertebrae; left scapula, humerus, radius, ulna, ). Its type locality is Aliso Viejo, which is in a Tortonian marine horizon in the Monterey Formation of California.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Aliso Viejo
