Sister taxa: Daphoenodon (Borocyon) neomexicanus, Daphoenodon (Borocyon) robustum

Type specimen: Amherst Coll. Mus. 34-52, a partial skeleton (pair of lower jaws, upper molar 1, and both front legs). Its type locality is Aletomeryx Quarry, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Runningwater Formation of Nebraska.

• Miocene of United States (4: Nebraska, Wyoming collections)
