Type specimens:
- Enhydrocyon stenocephalus: AMNH 6902, a partial skull (cranial fragments). Its type locality is John Day (non-specific), which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the John Day Formation of Oregon.
- Enhydrocyon oregonensis: YPM 12730, a partial skull (partial anterior skull).

• Oligocene of United States (2: Oregon)
