Sister taxa: Gunflintia barghoornii, Gunflintia grandis, Gunflintia magna, Gunflintia minuta
Type specimen: CPC 15604, 121.5:16.8. Its type locality is Tawallah Pocket No. 1 core, 17.7 m depth, which is in a Statherian peritidal dolomite in the Amelia Dolomite Formation of Australia.
Distribution: found only at Tawallah Pocket No. 1 core, 17.7 m depth
