Sister taxa: Gunflintia barghoornii, Gunflintia grandis, Gunflintia magna, Gunflintia oehlerae

Type specimen: Harvard Univ. 58263, Slide Sch-72. Its type locality is 6.4 km west of Schreiber, which is in an Orosirian basinal (siliceous) chert in the Gunflint Chert Formation of Canada.

• Statherian of Australia (1)

• Orosirian of Australia (1), Canada (4: Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, Quebec), Gabon (1), United States (1: Minnesota)
