Sister taxon: Rhinella arenarum
Type specimen: JUY-P 316, a partial skull (squamosal). Its type locality is San Roque, which is in a Pliocene terrestrial sandstone in the Uquía Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at San Roque
