Type specimen: Plate 1, fig. 2, Slide DC-12 (5), coordinates 47.4 x 104.7, a microspore. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-12, which is in a Paleocene marine limestone in the Black Mingo Formation of South Carolina.
