Type specimen: Plate 1, figure 11, Slide DC-40 (2), coordinates 60.0 x 98.6, a microspore. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-40, which is in a Santonian marine horizon in the Black Creek Formation of South Carolina.
