Type specimen: SDSNH 146624, a partial skeleton (Nearly complete skull, one cervical vertebra, partial right humerus, rib fragments). Its type locality is Merrick's Bay, which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Pysht Formation of Washington.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Merrick's Bay
