Sister taxa: Floridemys hurdi, Floridemys nana

Type specimen: CMM-V-3726, a partial shell (nuchal). Its type locality is Chesapeake Ranch Estates, which is in a Tortonian shallow subtidal siliciclastic in the St. Marys Formation of Maryland.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore-herbivore

Distribution: found only at Chesapeake Ranch Estates
