Sister taxa: Baptosaurus, Halisaurus arambourgi, Halisaurus onchognathus, Halisaurus platyspondylus
Type specimen: NVP030, a partial skeleton (Partial disarticulated skull, teeth, mandible, presacral vertebrae). Its type locality is North Gebel Gifata, which is in a Maastrichtian marine mudstone in the Dakhla Shale Formation of Egypt.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at North Gebel Gifata
