Type specimen: NDGS 10838, a partial skeleton (A nearly complete skull, complete mandibles, all seven cervical vertebrae, 11 disarticulated ribs, and five articulated anterior dorsal vertebrae). Its type locality is Cavalier County, which is in a Campanian offshore shale in the Pierre Shale Formation of North Dakota.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Cavalier County
