Sister taxon: Mammacyon ferocior

Type specimen: Amherst Coll. Mus. 34-41, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skull and partial postcranial skeleton). Its type locality is ACM Rosebud 2, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Harrisonian of United States (1: Florida collection)

• Arikareean of United States (1: South Dakota)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
