Type specimen: MNHN.F.PPI276, a partial skeleton (partial left rostrum, fragmentary horizontal ramus of left mandible, left M1; all cervical vertebrae, including subcomplete atlas, partial axis, and Ce3–7 in va). Its type locality is Cerro la Bruja, which is in a Miocene offshore shelf siltstone in the Pisco Formation of Peru.

Ecology: amphibious piscivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Cerro la Bruja
