Sister taxa: Aglyptorhynchus columbianus, Aglyptorhynchus denticulatus, Aglyptorhynchus sulcatus, Aglyptorhynchus venablesi
Type specimen: OU 22396, a partial skeleton (disarticulated partial skeleton). Its type locality is Haughs Quarry (I40/f360), which is in a Duntroonian offshore shelf lime mudstone in the Otekaike Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Haughs Quarry (I40/f360)
