Belongs to Mene according to C. Lin and D. Nolf 2022
Sister taxa: Mene oblonga, Mene psarianosi, Mene purdyi, Mene rhombea, Mene triangulum
Type specimen: IRSNB P 10125, an otolith (sagitta). Its type locality is Pin Oak Creek, which is in a Bartonian offshore horizon in the Cook Mountain Formation of Texas.
Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder
Distribution:
• Eocene of United States (2: Texas collections)
