Sister taxon: Honeymys mariae
Type specimen: UCMP 67106, a mandible (left dentary wth m1-m2). Its type locality is UCMP V-3611, Mulholland Site 2, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Garrity Formation of California.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at UCMP V-3611, Mulholland Site 2
