Sister taxon: Amaea (Discoscala) ghorabensis
Type specimen: USNM 441674, a shell. Its type locality is IPS 8, Lopez de Bertodano Bay, which is in a Lutetian coastal sandstone in the La Meseta Formation of Antarctica.
Ecology: slow-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Amaea (Discoscala) suroclathrata in the database
