Type specimens:
- Nanaimoteuthis haggarti: CDM994.59.9, an other (lower jaw). Its type locality is Puntledge River (locality 3, Eupachydiscus haradai subzone), which is in a Santonian marine siliciclastic in the Haslam Formation of Canada.
- Nanaimoteuthis hikidai:
Ecology: fast-moving nektobenthic carnivore
Distribution:
• Cretaceous of Canada (2: British Columbia collections), Japan (1)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
