Type specimen: Museo de La Plata, a set of limb elements (femur, tibia, tarsometatarsus). Its type locality is Cerro del Castillo, Trelew, which is in an Aquitanian/Burdigalian shallow subtidal sandstone in the Gaiman Formation of Argentina.
