Type specimens:

  • Monoclonius crassus: AMNH 3998, a skull. Its type locality is mouth of Birch Creek, which is in a Campanian terrestrial sandstone in the Judith River Formation of Montana.
  • Monoclonius lowei: NMC 8790, a skull.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (1: Alberta collection), United States (1: Montana)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
