Type specimens:
- Cacops aspidephorus: Its type locality is Indian Creek, 35 (Arroyo Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Arroyo Formation of Texas
- Trematopsis seltini: CNHM (FMNH) UR 279, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Olson Locality Bac (Vale Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial horizon in the Vale Formation of Texas.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
