Type specimen: NMC VP12095, a skull. Its type locality is Carmanah Creek, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Sooke Formation of Canada.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Carmanah Creek
