Type specimen: no number listed, a partial skull. Its type locality is Pacific Guano Company, which is in a Zanclean marine marl in the Goose Creek Formation of South Carolina.
Ecology: aquatic piscivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at Pacific Guano Company
