Sister taxon: Devinophoca emryi

Type specimen: SNM Z14523, a partial skull. Its type locality is Bonanza site, which is in a Serravallian marine sandstone/sandstone in the Studienka Formation of Slovakia.

Ecology: amphibious piscivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Bonanza site
