Type specimens:

  • Shantungosuchus chuhsienensis: IVPP V.2484, a skeleton. Its type locality is Western slope of Tashan Hill, which is in a Berriasian/Valanginian terrestrial sandstone in the Mengyin Formation of China.
  • Shantungosuchus brachycephalus: IVPP V4020, a partial skeleton.

Ecology: carnivore

Distribution: found only at Western slope of Tashan Hill
